CALL TO THE GATHERED (responsive)
One: This is a wondrous moment: being together; a moment of reflection, a moment of
gratitude; a moment of amazing awareness of God’s Holy Mystery.
All: We are here to reconnect and to be sensitized to that side of us we often neglect, our
spiritual awareness.

One: We trust that your summer is going well: at the cottage, summer holidays, lying in a
hammock enjoying the summer breeze and reading your favourite books.
All: We open our hearts to God’s tender presence.
One: Things are happening – there is a wave of hope in the midst of this time of hopelessness
and struggle and world confusion.
All: That is the Good News that renews us and encourages us.

Wondrous, awesome presence, we come with eager minds and ready hearts. May we

Today we celebrate in community as faith-filled, spirit-filled people. Amen.

How are we doing financially?: We are happy to report that half way through the year we
are NOT in a deficit position. Thank you again for your generosity to St Paul's Church. Our
surplus over our 2017 budget is $1,947. Here is an update on finances as of June 30, 2017,
compared to same period in 2016:
2017 2016
Income: $159,590 $167,029
Expenses: $150,008 $156,117
Balance: $ 9,582 $ 10,912

Elevate Accessibility: We're getting closer to reaching the congregational goal of raising
$250,000 towards the Elevate Accessibility renovation. With the most recent donation of $2,500
from the Cliff Pendlebury Fund of the Huronia Community Foundation, we are only short
$29,201.82 of the congregation’s donation target. For those of you who wish to spread the
word, don't forget to let your friends and family know about the "Donate Now" button on our
website at www.stpaulsmidland.org where you can direct your donation towards the project.
Let's work together to meet our financial commitment in time for the Open House this Fall.
Together, we can do it!
